Joris Meurs

Joris Meurs obtained his BASc in Chemistry (specialization Forensic Chemistry) in 2014 from Saxion University of Applied Sciences and received his MSc in Chemistry (specialization Analytical Sciences) in 2017 from the VU University Amsterdam. Afterwards, he joined the School of Pharmacy of the University of Nottingham where he received his PhD in Bioanalytical Chemistry (2021) working on high throughput mass spectrometry strategies in the field of metabolomics and proteomics.

After finishing his PhD, he joined the Institute of Molecules & Materials and currently holds a role as researcher and laboratory support. His current area of research are developing sampling and mass spectrometry-based analysis strategies for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for life science applications.

Currently, Joris is involved in the following projects: DEDICATION, OBSeRVeD, BENIGN, and Synergia.
